About HGTM: Humanity is Greater Than Money

Our Story

HGTM was founded on a simple yet profound belief: humanity is greater than money. In a society where systemic barriers like unaffordable housing, mental health challenges, and economic instability leave millions without a stable home, we saw an opportunity for change. Established in 2025 by a team of compassionate innovators, HGTM is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reimagining solutions to homelessness. Starting with our pilot project in Owensboro, Kentucky, we're building sustainable communities that prioritize people over profits, proving that dignity, self-sufficiency, and compassion can transform lives.

Our Mission

HGTM is committed to ending homelessness by creating innovative, self-sustaining Tiny Home Villages that provide permanent, supportive housing for individuals and families. We empower residents through personalized care, on-site opportunities, and eco-friendly practices, fostering environments where everyone can thrive without fear of eviction or dependency. By challenging inefficient systems, we aim to scale our model nationwide, restoring hope and proving that true progress comes from valuing humanity above all.

Our Approach

At HGTM, we go beyond temporary shelters. Our Tiny Home Villages are designed as modular, expandable communities on 8-10 acres of land, featuring:

  • Durable, Inclusive Housing: Tornado-resistant tiny homes (80-400 sq ft) with kitchenettes, private bathrooms, and ADA modifications, accommodating singles, families, and those with disabilities.

  • Sustainability and Self-Sufficiency: Year-round hydroponics, aquaponics, chickens, and solar power with battery backups to produce food and energy, reducing costs and creating resident jobs.

  • Holistic Support: Mandatory therapy, drug testing, job training, and transportation to help residents secure benefits (like SSI) and build resumes in a "no-fail" ethos.

  • Community Building: Optional communal spaces, activities, and monetized content creation to promote belonging and financial independence.

This efficient model draws from proven tiny home initiatives, achieving 70-80% cost savings over traditional programs while targeting 80% resident retention and 40-60% employment within months.

Our Impact

From addressing local crises in Owensboro—where chronic homelessness affects 80-120 people—to creating a blueprint for national change, HGTM is making a difference. Our villages reduce public costs, boost local economies through produce sales, and empower residents to reclaim their lives. With projected break-even by Year 5 and surpluses starting Year 8, we're building sustainable futures that benefit residents, communities, and society.
